The conference titled “Defense and Space in the Century of Türkiye”, organized by the Tarf Community at Aksaray University, was carried out under the leadership of a student community founded by Management Information Systems (MIS) students and academically supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Volkan Soner Özsoy, a faculty member of the MIS Department. The event, held at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Conference Hall within the scope of Tarf Teknokalp 4.0 Talks, was attended by Aksaray Deputy Governor Turan Soğukoluk, Deputy Mayor of Aksaray Yakup Kadri Perek, ASÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Selim Çakmak, representatives of public institutions, academics, and numerous students.
During the program, İbrahim Uslu, Corporate Governance Director at EHSİM, delivered a presentation titled “Electronic Warfare Systems in the Century of Türkiye”, addressing the development of the defense industry and Türkiye’s position in this field. Aydın Zaim, Director of Marketing and Planning and Advisor to the General Manager at ULAK Communications, presented on “Satellite Systems and the National Technology Initiative”, providing comprehensive insights into space technologies, communication systems, and Türkiye’s domestic satellite projects.
Additionally, Adnan Çelik, Director of the Tarf Thought Institute, and Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, President of the Institute, shared their evaluations on Türkiye’s scientific heritage, technological vision, and the roles that young people should undertake in this process. Throughout the conference, emphasis was placed on Türkiye’s progress in the defense industry, advancements in space technologies, and the increasing capacity for domestic production. Students were also encouraged to support their academic achievements with project development, technical competencies, and personal development.
The program concluded with a plaque presentation and a commemorative group photo.
